ICPC Chairman, Dr. Musa Adamu Aliyu, disclosed this on Thursday after presenting an interim investigation report to President Bola Tinubu at the Presidential Villa in Abuja. Aliyu said the investigation further uncovered two additional non-existent agencies — the FCT Investment Promotion Agency and the Foreign Investment Promotion Agency. “The syndicate exploited gaps in verification procedures and collaboration among government institutions to present the fake organisations as legitimate government agencies,” he said. Despite the alleged fraudulent operations, Aliyu said the commission found no evidence that government funds were released to the fake council. The ICPC launched the investigation after allegations emerged that the Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council had been operating as a federal agency without any legal backing.
