38-year-old Arvydas Maliusis was handed a life sentence for the murder of 39-year-old Ilja Akatjevas at Ipswich Crown Court on August 6. John Cook, who was an Ipswich Borough Councillor for the area at the time of the murder in December said: "Mr Akatjevas was brutally murdered last year, and I am pleased that his killer has received a life sentence.
