Cumbria Fire and Rescue Service responded to a blaze at Sinkfall Skip Hire and Recycling Centre on Rakesmoor Lane over the weekend.
It took 60 firefighters to tackle the flames with ten fire engines, two water bowsers and the Joint incident support unit called to the scene.
The fire started just before 10pm on Friday, July 31, with fire crew remaining at the scene into Saturday, August 1.
Park Road was closed overnight and into the next day with local people told to keep their windows shut against smoke and fumes.
