Data on the reductions has been revealed by Property Solvers, by examining sold prices against the monthly updated asking price. Carlisle; Appleby-in-Westmorland and Brampton saw the largest average price reductions in the CA postcode areas. Other Cumbrian postcodes with substantial average price reductions included CA19 at Holmrook with £11,412, CA20 in Seascale at £11,166 and CA9 in Alston at £11,000. In CA6 (Carlisle), the average drop was £10,659 while CA17 in Kirkby Stephen saw an average reduction of £10,214 on original asking prices. More modest average reductions were seen in Whitehaven (CA28) at £6,601, Carlisle’s CA2 at £6,735 and Egremont (CA22) at £8,258.
