Darren Blewitt, 40, appeared before Chelmsford Crown Court sitting at Colchester Magistrates’ Court on Monday over one charge of coercive and controlling behaviour, two counts of ABH, and two counts of intentional strangulation.
The court heard from Miles Trigg, prosecuting, that the Crown Prosecution Service had further matters to review and requested the case be adjourned.
Recorder Elroy Claxton said: “There are further matters that the Crown wishes to review.
“We can’t go ahead because those matters are important and should be reviewed.”
Blewitt, of Warren Chase, Ipswich, will next appear in court on August 10.
