Two races for mayor in Northeast Tennessee primaries came down to the final count with incumbents scoring narrow wins. Carter County’s Patty Woodby was the unofficial winner defeating Chris Little by 233 votes while in Washington County, Joe Grandy defeated James Reeves in their third campaign meeting since 2018. Incumbents were also defeated in select races Thursday night with Tennessee House member John Crawford losing to challenger Jessica Means for the GOP ballot spot with 61 percent. In Washington County, months of controversy resulted in a loss for District 1 school board member Keith Ervin with newcomer Mary Grace Wooten earning a seat alongside present members Annette Buchanan and Vince Walters.
