Observed every year on August 7, National Handloom Day commemorates the launch of the Swadeshi Movement and recognises the contribution of India's handloom weavers to the country's cultural heritage and economy. The 12th National Handloom Day is being celebrated at the Rashtrapati Bhavan Cultural Centre in New Delhi, with President Droupadi Murmu attending as the chief guest.
