A relief camp opened in Thayyeni following the monsoon disaster became the unlikely setting for the couple's reunion. 88-year-old Tharayil George Thomas and Mary George, natives of Koyilampara in Thayyeni, decided to reunite at the relief camp. However, following some minor differences, the couple began living separately in two houses in 2017. They reached the camp at Thayyeni Government High School after a landslide occurred in the area the other day. Following discussions, the couple decided to reunite.
