Following completion of a Ground Investigation Report (GIR), the council is now seeking external specialists to design and undertake repairs – the latest development towards the reopening of Southgrove Road. A GIR is a technical document that provides detailed information about the ground conditions at a site and can assist in identifying possible hazards. Southgrove Road has been closed long-term, between its junctions with Macrocarpa Road and Grove Road. “The council is committed to progressing the scheme and delivering the necessary repairs.” In a prior update, the council said: “Recognising the importance of reopening the road as swiftly as possible, we’ve taken action.
