Dominic Hedges, of HMP Isle of Wight, appeared before Isle of Wight magistrates via video link on Tuesday, August 4. The 45-year-old is charged with, and denies, assault by beating of an emergency worker, in Newport, on June 5. He is accused of punching a prison officer in the face, causing some injuries. Hedges’ case was adjourned for a plea and trial preparation hearing at the Isle of Wight Crown Court on September 7.
