The heads of government of the Eurasian Economic Union countries held a narrow format meeting of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council in Cholpon-Ata on Thursday. The participants discussed deepening economic integration, removing barriers in the union’s internal market, and developing multilateral cooperation. The meeting was chaired by Kazakh Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov. Cabinet Chairman of Kyrgyzstan Adylbek Kasymaliev recalled that President Sadyr Japarov had previously called for the need to implement the agreements reached in order to simplify procedures, expedite the movement of goods, and improve accessibility to the markets of EAEU countries. The meeting of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council in an expanded format will take place today, August 7.
