The Department of Chemicalization, Plant Protection, and Quarantine for Jalal-Abad region of Kyrgyzstan returned a shipment of onions from Uzbekistan at Ken-Sai-Avtodorozhny quarantine phytosanitary checkpoint, the Ministry of Agriculture reported. During state phytosanitary inspection, it was discovered that the packaging of 24.9 tons of imported products lacked the mandatory labeling required by the phytosanitary requirements of the Eurasian Economic Union. In accordance with current legislation, the import of this shipment into Kyrgyzstan was prohibited, and the cargo was returned to the exporting party. The department continues to implement enhanced state phytosanitary inspections, ensuring the country’s phytosanitary security.
