The bustling Mission Bay has a new school, but SFUSD’s lottery system means that some neighbors will miss out. Agid said Mission Bay has added thousands of homes over the past three decades without the public elementary school envisioned when the neighborhood was planned. Opening Mission Bay School, he said, is about finally delivering on that promise. The fourth floor is also home to the Mission Bay Hub (opens in new tab), a program drawing students from six high schools across the city into STEM career pathways. At first, the couple was excited simply to be founding members of the school community.
