Majithia was arrested by the Vigilance Bureau in June 2025 ((Express Archives: Harmeet Sodhi))A Mohali court Saturday extended the judicial custody of Shiromani Akali Dal leader Bikram Singh Majithia till October 18 in the ongoing disproportionate assets case.
He appeared before the court through video conferencing from Nabha Jail, where he is currently lodged.
Majithia was arrested by the Vigilance Bureau in June 2025 for allegedly amassing assets disproportionate to his known sources of income.
According to the investigation, he is accused of creating shell companies and engaging in benami transactions to accumulate property worth several crores of rupees.
