A month after floating tenders for constructing an exotic bird park or aviary at Nahur in Mumbai’s eastern suburbs, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has received responses from nine different bidders from across the country. Civic officials said the bidders have submitted their queries and the administration has responded to each of them. Speaking to The Indian Express on Saturday, Dr Sanjay Tripathi, Director of Mumbai’s Zoo, said the pre-bid meeting was held recently. The BMC’s tender stated that the facility will also house a hospital for the treatment of birds along with a dedicated quarantine facility. The tender document states that this facility will be able to accommodate 60 cars at a time.
