(Contributed photo)Alberta transportation minister and Innisfail-Sylvan Lake MLA Devin Dreeshen says the province is making progress in its effort to improve commercial trucking safety.
Enforcement actions included $16,500 in administrative penalties and downgrading the carrier’s Safety Fitness Rating to Unsatisfactory.
“We will continue to work with industry partners to build on this progress and ensure that only safe, qualified drivers, carriers and training schools operate in the province’s trucking sector,” Dreeshen said.
Dreeshen added that the province is working with other jurisdictions to create a Red Seal certification for commercial drivers.
