Boston officials announced new safety measures for Boston Common and Downtown Crossing after five shootings, a fatal beating, and a daytime stabbing occurred over the past month. The One Downtown Task Force held a public safety working session. Changes include increased coordinated operations among Boston Police, Transit Police, university police, and private security.
