News ReleaseSOUTH BEND – American Airlines will begin operating aircraft between South Bend International Airport and Chicago O’Hare International Airport this fall, ending its use of luxury motorcoach service on the route after more than a year. Beginning Oct. 5, the airline will offer three daily flights aboard CRJ-700 regional jets, replacing the existing coach service that has connected travelers between the two airports. The service has allowed passengers to check bags and book bus trips as part of a single American Airlines itinerary, providing seamless connections to onward flights at O’Hare. American Airlines said customers who have already booked travel between South Bend and Chicago after the transition date will be automatically rebooked onto the new flights.
