David Mackie will be responsible for delivering Queensland’s 2032 Olympic infrastructure as the next director-general (D-G) of the Department of State Development, Infrastructure and Planning.
Mackie will end his tenure as Queensland Public Service commissioner and begin a five-year D-G term from August 17.
He replaces acting department head Shaun Ferris.
Announcing the appointment on Friday, Premier David Crisafulli said Mackie was one of the state’s most accomplished public sector leaders, with more than 35 years of experience plus more than a decade in senior leadership roles.
