Firefighters were called to a fire at The Beeches public house on Lythwood Road in Bayston Hill during the early hours of this morning, Friday 7 August. Specialist command support was immediately established, with crews utilising drone technology to provide aerial surveillance and assist incident commanders on the ground. Due to severe access difficulties, Telford Central’s Aerial Ladder Platform was brought in to allow firefighters to attack the flames directly from above, supported by an Incident Command Unit. Fire crews remain on scene in Bayston Hill and are expected to maintain a presence for several hours to carry out damping-down operations, eliminate residual hotspots, and secure the building.
