ISLAMABAD – Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi and Minister of State for Interior Talal Chaudhry on Friday visited the Islamabad Safe City headquarters, where a special meeting reviewed progress on the Safe City expansion project. Naqvi directed the authorities to complete the Safe City expansion project by September 30, stressing that the initiative should transform Islamabad’s security and surveillance system in line with international standards. “Our commitment is to make Islamabad Safe City a modern, smart and developed institution on the pattern of advanced countries,” Naqvi said. The interior minister also set a three-month deadline for completion of the modern Fusion Centre at Islamabad Safe City. He further directed officials to finalise the Safe City Bill and present it before the National Assembly at the earliest.
