Bhubaneswar: Odisha has been selected to pilot an artificial intelligence (AI)- based child growth monitoring system that can assess a child’s weight, height and other key anthropometric parameters using a mobile phone video, officials said Thursday. The AI-powered solution measures a child’s weight, height, head circumference, chest circumference and Mid-Upper Arm Circumference (MUAC) through video-based analysis. On the occasion, Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida reaffirmed the state government’s commitment to promoting breastfeeding as the cornerstone of child health. “Mother’s milk is the first shield of protection for a child’s healthy life. Department officials and consultants also participated in the programme, reiterating their commitment to promoting breastfeeding, improving maternal and child nutrition, and ensuring a healthier future for every child.
