As Trigg County students prepare to head back to school next week, the Cadiz Police Department is asking the community to help ensure every child has the supplies they need for a successful start to the school year. The event benefits the Trigg County Family Resource Center, which then distributes supplies to students at Trigg County Primary, Intermediate, Middle and High schools. Thomas said the annual drive helps families who may struggle with the cost of purchasing school supplies at the beginning of the school year. Cadiz police officers and school resource officers will be stationed outside Dollar General Market collecting donations, with the goal of filling multiple patrol vehicles with school supplies. He noted that Trigg County Schools’ renewed emphasis on traditional classroom instruction means many paper-and-pencil supplies will be especially important this year.
