A Berkeley Township woman lost $65,000 to scammers. When the same person came back seeking another $19,000, Berkeley Township detectives and an investigator from the Ocean County Sheriff's Office arrested him. "He was putting money in a fund," said Ocean County Sheriff Michael Mastronardy, according to Jersey Shore Online. Representatives from nine counties and state officials gathered to compare frauds and questionable business practices they had seen. Senator Carmen Amato said lawmakers need to keep pace as scammers adopt new technology and find ways around existing laws.
