The Octopath Traveler series hit its 8th anniversary in July, and Team Asano recently addressed the future of these HD-2D role-playing games during a chat with Japanese website Dengeki Online. After releasing the prequel title Octopath Traveler 0 last year, the developer is well aware of the excitement for "Octopath Traveler III" (even though nothing has been officially announced at this point) and realises there are already incredibly high expectations from the fanbase. Team Asano recently worked on the HD-2D title The Adventures of Elliot, and is currently helping out with Final Fantasy Resonance, due out later this year. It's got some new content in the pipeline for Octopath Traveler 0 as well. Last month, Square Enix also announced Octopath Traveler 1 & 2 would be getting a Switch 2 release this October.
