Google Reshuffles AI Leadership: Jeff Dean Departs, Demis Hassabis Is Alphabet Chief Scientist

> TechGoogle has announced a major overhaul of its artificial intelligence leadership, with long-time executive Jeff Dean set to leave the company after a 27-year stint.
As part of the restructuring, Demis Hassabis will step down as CEO of Google DeepMind and take over as Chairman of the AI division.
He will also assume the role of Chief Scientist at Alphabet, according to a memo from CEO Sundar Pichai published on Google's official blog.
Demis Hassabis, a cofounder of DeepMind, joined Google when the firm bought the AI startup in 2014.
