Ellesmere Street, in Farnworth town centre, will be resurfaced after 'years of campaigning', according to Farnworth and Kearsley First Party member Paul Sanders. "After long campaigning by Farnworth and Kearsley First, the infamous deep potholes, trenches and bald patches on the road and pavement on Ellesmere Street, in Farnworth town centre, WILL finally be resurfaced - at long last! "F&KF councillors approved and contributed £10,000 of Farnworth South ward funding to these essential works on this 'gateway' route. Work began on June 24 2024, focussing on pavement works on Peel Street and Russell Street including new paving and carriageway resurfacing.
