Long-running Grundy Fold Farm planning battle takes another twist
['Isobel Forbes']
The Bolton News | News
Bolton Council has approved plans to alter one of the homes under construction at Grundy Fold Farm off Chorley Old Road in Smithills, marking the latest chapter in a planning saga that has stretched back more than a decade.
Planning officers concluded the changes would not cause any additional harm to the Green Belt or the character of the surrounding area.
In the years that followed, a number of applications linked to the development were refused on Green Belt and landscape grounds.
Some proposals related to homes that had already been built, leading to enforcement action by Bolton Council.
Planning officers concluded the amendments would not result in any greater impact on the openness of the Green Belt than the development that has already been approved.
