Additional destinations featured on the signs include the town hall, Bolton Market, Bolton Lads and Girls Club and the town’s university and colleges. Some of the signs carry motivational messages to encourage active travel by foot, bike or scooter. The scheme follows requests from town centre businesses, councillors and members of the Town Centre East steering group for improved wayfinding. Councillor Nadeem Ayub, executive member for transport and highways at Bolton Council, said: "Anyone who knows Bolton town centre knows that it is already a very easy, pedestrian-friendly place for people to walk around.
