Colchester Council took legal action against both individuals, resulting in one offender being ordered to pay more than £1,200 in fines and costs at magistrates' court. The penalty was issued after the resident was linked to an alleged offence involving several bags of dumped waste. The second individual also failed to pay their Fixed Penalty Notice (FPN) and did not attend court. The council is reminding residents to dispose of waste responsibly and ensure anyone removing waste on their behalf is properly authorised. Cases of fly-tipping can be reported on the Colchester Council website.
