The Almshouse Charity of Arthur Winsley and Others, known locally as Winsley's, hosted a special afternoon tea for residents to commemorate three centuries of providing homes and support for older people in the city.
Trustees, staff and guests came together for the event, with refreshments served by members of the charity's board and management team.
The charity was founded by Arthur Winsley, a successful wool and cloth dealer, alderman, justice of the peace and mayor of Colchester.
Over the centuries, the charity has expanded through the support of additional benefactors and now provides more than 80 homes for around 100 residents.
