Fix the MTA nowWhen are we going to wake up and admit that the MTA is a poorly run agency (“MTA not fare to commuters,” Oct. 1)? It’s time to end the nonsense: Create a responsible and efficient MTA, and fire the people not doing the job. I recently went to the New York DMV to apply for an enhanced drivers license. I had my drivers license and my passport with me, and I was told I could not get the enhanced drivers license unless I also provided my birth certificate and my social security card. Shame on you, New York, for giving an illegal alien a commercial drivers license without meeting the ID requirements for legal citizens.
