A Zimbabwean man has been jailed for 16 years after admitting attempting to murder his former partner during a brutal knife attack at her home in Ashton-under-Lyne, Greater Manchester. The victim’s mother interpreted the remarks as a threat towards her daughter and told Kajese to leave the home. On the night of the attack, Kajese dropped the woman at a friend’s party before later returning home with her and another man who had attended the gathering. During a discussion about their relationship, the victim told Kajese she wanted to end it. While receiving treatment at Manchester Royal Infirmary, the victim told officers the rapid police response had saved her life.
