The temporary measures include a Section 60AA order under the Criminal Justice and Public Order Act 1994, in place from Thursday, August 6 at 6pm to Friday, August 7 at 6am. This order allows officers to require individuals to remove face coverings. Anyone who refuses to remove a face covering when required to do so may be arrested. It follows Norfolk Constabulary officers being injured in chaotic and ugly scenes on Wednesday night.
