Repair works will now have to be carried out at Blofield Library, and officials at County Hall will be investigating the issue at the North Street branch. Earlier this year, Norfolk County Council, which runs the library service, revealed that leaky guttering had caused water damage in the staff-only areas. A spokesman for Norfolk County Council said: "We anticipate that remedial works will be required to address any damage resulting from the damp." The facility suffered water damage in June and was forced to change its opening hours due to the damage. The library, which has been operating as a community facility since 1897, will continue to offer access to library card users who have registered for the Open Libraries initiative.
