Ohio’s combined medical and adult-use marijuana sales have surpassed $4 billion, according to an updated report released August 6 by the Ohio Division of Cannabis Control. That includes $1,677,325,528 in adult-use sales since recreational purchases began in 2024 and $2,392,527,112 in medical marijuana sales. Adult-use purchases now account for about 41% of Ohio’s all-time marijuana sales despite the recreational market operating for less than two years. Ohio dispensaries have completed more than 46.2 million transactions, including approximately 24.7 million adult-use receipts and 21.5 million medical marijuana receipts. The state lists 473,834 registered medical marijuana patients, although just 73,540 had both an active registration and an active physician recommendation.
