Utah medical cannabis sales reached a record $17.4 million in July, bringing the state’s total for the first seven months of 2026 to approximately $117.8 million, according to the newest monthly report from the Utah Department of Health and Human Services.
The total was the highest monthly sales figure recorded since Utah’s medical cannabis program began sales in 2020.
The new year-to-date total was calculated by adding July’s sales to the $100.4 million in medical cannabis sales recorded during the first half of the year.
That is an increase of 705 from the 115,472 active patients listed in the previous report, continuing the program’s steady growth.
Utah legalized medical cannabis in 2018, with the state’s first medical cannabis pharmacy opening in March 2020.
