For the third series in its 145th-anniversary program, Seiko has unveiled six limited-edition watches built around “Edo purple”. Seiko’s connection to Edo purple runs deeper than a shared link to Tokyo. But Seiko’s approach to the historical connection is a bit looser than just calling everything “Edo purple”. It may look like the collection’s most excessive design at first glance, but the Rotocall actually keeps Edo purple on a fairly tight leash.
