Africa’s climate technology (ClimateTech) sector has attracted approximately US$6.35 billion in investment between 2016 and 2025, according to a new report by Briter Bridges and its partners. Despite this progress, Africa continues to receive only a small share of global ClimateTech investment. However, investment remains heavily concentrated, with the top 20 companies securing around 60% of all ClimateTech funding raised over the past decade. Energy continues to dominate Africa’s ClimateTech landscape, accounting for the largest share of total investment, particularly in power generation projects. Kenya, Nigeria, and South Africa together account for more than three-quarters of total ClimateTech funding, with Kenya emerging as the leading destination for investment.
