Margaret Glaspy’s ‘I Am Both’ Triumphs As Raw, Reflective & Resolute (ALBUM REVIEW)
['Christopher Raley']
Glide Magazine
After releasing a short album of covers in 2025 called The Golden Heart Protector, Glaspy gives us an album of new material.
The aesthetic of making the most out of a little certainly calls back to Glaspy’s debut.
But I Am Both is perhaps her first album to be a proper evolution from Emotions and Math.
Built on an interesting fingerpicking pattern that utilizes the full range of the guitar, Glaspy talks her way through what may be a narrow slice of memory.
The cracked confidence and imperturbable nuance of her voice on these songs soars head and shoulders above those of more pointed commentary.
