NYC’s most transgressive and mysterious supergroup, Nu Jazz, synthesizes a decade-plus of six unique, yet naturally interconnected musical journeys. Some members have spent years in New York City’s experimental electronic scene, while others have dedicated the bulk of their musical lives pursuing what we call “Jazz”. “Civil War” was the second single off their new record Un Jazz, and if ever there was an apt title for a song, this is it. “Civil War” stretches out to almost five minutes like a fray between styles fighting for supremacy. Notably, the song switches from a jagged riff laden with electronic flourishes from both Orlowski and Easter to a heavy-handed punk section.
