The Musasa Project has raised alarm over a reported rise in femicide and filicide cases. Femicide refers to the deliberate killing of women or girls because of their gender. Musasa expressed deep concern about the reported cases in a statement dated 05 August 2026. The organisation’s concerns follow several disturbing cases reported in Zimbabwe and internationally. The organisation further encouraged responsible media coverage of femicide and filicide cases.
