The Pittsburgh Steelers haven’t fielded a top-ranked defense in more than a decade, but newcomer Jamel Dean says this should be the year. The eighth-year pro compared Aaron Rodgers favorably to former teammate Tom Brady and called DK Metcalf the Calvin Johnson of this NFL era, but Dean saved his highest praise for the Steelers defense. The Steelers haven’t had a top-ranked defense since 2012, when Dean was still a high school sophomore in Florida. Both competitors, the two exchanged words after Metcalf caught a pass along the sideline Thursday with Dean in tight coverage. Now as teammates, Dean praised Rodgers’ ability to “remix” plays based on what he sees from the defense.
