AG Fitch Urges Congress to Pass STOP FRAUD in Medicaid Act
['Madison Plaisance']
Picayune Item
Attorney General Fitch joined a coalition of 17 attorneys general urging Congress to pass H.R.
Permitting state Medicaid Fraud Control Units, like the one in my office, to investigate and prosecute recipient fraud was part of the five-point plan to fight Medicaid fraud that I presented to Vice President Vance in May.
Currently, federal restrictions on State Medicaid Fraud Control Units limit the States to investigating and prosecuting Medicaid provider fraud.
The STOP FRAUD in Medicaid Act would expand the ability of States to investigate and prosecute Medicaid recipient fraud.
Since taking office, Attorney General Fitch has secured 58 criminal convictions and 61 civil settlements for fraud, recovering more than $101 million for Mississippi taxpayers.
