The National Treasury has officially kicked off the process of preparing the Finance Bill 2027, months earlier than usual.
Through a public notice dated July 27, the Treasury has invited Kenyans and other stakeholders to submit tax policy proposals for consideration.
Unlike previous years, the public consultation on tax proposals has begun earlier, with the Treasury aiming to complete and submit the Finance Bill to the National Assembly in January 2027.
National Treasury Building Photo National TreasuryProposals should target specific tax law amendments, along with clear justifications backed by evidence or solid economic analysis.
To avoid disruptions once Parliament breaks for campaigns, the Treasury says the Finance Act 2027 must be enacted well before then.
