Brechin’s Caledonian Railway has defended its position in a row which has taken the award-winning Angus tourist attraction to court. Brechin Railway Preservation Society (BRPS) secured an interim interdict at Perth Sheriff Court preventing Caledonian Railway Brechin (CRB) from using British Railway coaches it owns. BRPS said there was no loan agreement in place for the rolling stock and raised concerns it was therefore uninsured. That has been firmly refuted in a CRB statement which says the railway is in a “strong position.” “CRB has sufficient rolling stock and does not require BRPSL’s rolling stock to carry out its activities.”
