The Governor was speaking as the chief guest at an awareness workshop on the ‘TB-Free India Campaign’, organised at Pragna Bhavan in Agartala. He said the Tripura government remains firmly committed to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of a ‘TB-Free India’. Calling upon young people to take an active role, the Governor urged them to join TB-Free Clubs in educational institutions and become ambassadors of awareness. She said a modern preventive treatment regimen introduced in 2024 requires 12 weekly doses over three months, replacing the earlier 180-day course, making treatment more convenient and improving completion rates. During the programme, the Governor distributed nutritional food baskets among TB patients and launched the initiative to download the ‘TB-Mukt Bharat’ app.
