Heavy Rain Triggers Floods, Landslides And Infrastructure Damage Across Nagaland

NET Web DeskKohima, Aug 6: Continuous heavy rainfall across Nagaland has triggered floods, landslides, road damage and disrupted connectivity in several districts, prompting the Nagaland State Disaster Management Authority (NSDMA) to issue a public advisory urging residents to remain vigilant.
In Chumoukedima district, waterlogging was reported in Ward-9, while roads and a culvert sustained damage at multiple locations.
The Khughovi Bridge over the Chathe River has been closed to traffic after the river rose to a dangerous level.
Meanwhile, landslides and mudslides were reported from Phek and Noklak districts, with restoration work underway to restore connectivity.
The NSDMA has advised people to avoid vulnerable locations, remain alert, and strictly follow district administration advisories as restoration work and damage assessment continue across the affected areas.
