NET Web DeskFifteen passengers, including six women and nine men, were detained at Imphal Airport after security personnel recovered 519 bottles of Indian Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL) from their luggage, police said on Thursday. According to police, the passengers arrived on an IndiGo flight from Delhi to Imphal on August 5. Acting on specific inputs provided by DESAM, personnel of Airport Police Station detained the group and later handed them over to Singjamei Police Station along with 79 pieces of luggage. The seized consignment comprised 519 bottles of IMFL of various brands, including Jack Daniel’s, Jameson, Smirnoff, Johnnie Walker, Absolut Vodka, Glenlivet, Glenfiddich, Glenmorangie, Blue Label, Black Label, Red Label, Monkey Shoulder, Singleton, Bushkill, Irish Smith, Jacob’s Creek, Cotton Mouth Wine and Indri. The seized liquor and the detained individuals will be handed over to the Excise Department for further legal action in accordance with the law.
