NET Web DeskGuwahati, August 6: The Union Cabinet has approved the development of the Guwahati–Tezpur Corridor on National Highway-15 in Assam, paving the way for improved connectivity and faster travel across the region. The 135.87-km corridor will be developed as a four-lane access-controlled highway at an estimated cost of ₹8,970.20 crore under the build-operate-transfer (BOT) toll model, encouraging private sector participation in the project. A key feature of the project is a 4.9-km Emergency Landing Facility (ELF) on the Tezpur Bypass, planned in coordination with the Indian Air Force. The facility is expected to strengthen strategic infrastructure while also supporting civilian requirements.
